About Reiki

Usui Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying hands on or just above the body" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and this is what causes us to be alive. Reiki is a healing frequency of energy that is channeled directly from the universe/source through the reiki practitioner connecting to the clients energy field, where shifts in energy blocks can occur, helping to allow for healing and transformation to take place.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Adapting to the natural needs of the receiver. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include:

The aim is to reprogramme negative mental and emotional patterns by using Reiki Drum Healing. This is used to place a message into the subconscious of the person you are treating or yourself. This technique can be used to overcome negative thoughts, bad habits, to focus the mind on something important, or for achieving a goal. This helps the person to reframe their thinking by sending a message to the person's subconscious with the Reiki energy.
Reiki Drum Journey
A Reiki drum journey is a healing technique that combines Reiki energy with the rhythmic sound of drumming to facilitate deep relaxation, altered states of consciousness, and access to inner wisdom. It involves using a drum to introduce Reiki energy into a person's energy field while guiding them on a shamanic-style journey for personal insights and healing.

Today’s Reiki drumming session was fascinating, filled with varied sensations.
Within minutes, I had a strong urge to cough, followed by noticeable activity around my sinuses—sudden awareness of congestion I hadn’t noticed before.
When Julie brought the drumming to my heart and torso, I felt a heavy energy and sensed a new part of myself emerging—strong, confident, and decisive. It felt like a self-assured teacher stepping in to take the lead, a part of me I hadn’t known was there.
Later, I saw images of people and situations that had weighed me down and felt them release through my feet—like a physical letting go of what no longer serves me.
My affirmation was “I choose to believe I am on the right path for my higher and greater good,” which aligned perfectly with the sense of release and readiness to move forward.
As always a really powerful session and I came away feeling lighter and also a bit wiser. It felt like I had received guidance during this session.
